ABOUT JNV YAMUNANAGAR

1st May, 2005 was the most auspicious day when the foundation stone of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Yamunanagar, Haryana was laid down. The inauguration of building was done by Smt Sonia Gandhi, Kapil Sibal (MHRD) and Kumari Selja on dated 8 September 2010. The school campus covers around 25 acers of land. Modern state of art infrastructure and the newly-refurbished student hostels and staff houses. The academic buildings including several classrooms are linked by a computer network. The widespread use of email and an intranet system shrinks the distances and keeps staff, students and administration in quick and easy contact with one another. The Vidyalaya is surrounded by the grove of guava and mango trees. The school is located  25 K.M  from Yamunanagar towards Paonta Sahib. The nearest tourist places are Gurudawar Paonta Sahib(30kms), Harbal Park (3kms), Hathni kund barrage(10 kms), Punchmukhi Hanuman Mandir (20 kms), Kalesar Temple and Kalesar wild life sanctuary etc. Nearest Bus Stand is Khizrabad about 3 kms. Nearest Railway station is Jagadhry and Yamunanagar about 30 kms. Vidyalaya is 30 kms away from district head quarter. Nearest airport is Mohali (Chandigarh) about 90 kms.Vidyalaya has beautiful green lush garden and beautiful designed Academic block. ATM facility is just 500  meter from vidyalaya and petrol pump is just 1 KM away from school.

ABOUT LIBRARY JNV 
(YAMUNANAGAR)

Library of JNV Yamunanagar Haryana is fully automated with egranthalaya 4 cloud software and all user can access this library through Mobile App egranthalaya after downloading it from play store. Library provide various services like open Access Materials, Circulation, Reference Service, Career Corner, Competitive Exams corner etc.This library contains  currently have a collection of nearly about 5875 books and library subscribes 40 magazines(25 in Hindi and 15 in English ) and 24 news papers (14 in Hindi and 10 In English ).To motivate maximum utilization of library resources ,various competitions and activities are organized every year. This Library is fully automated with eGranthalaya 4software developed by NIC. Barcode labels are properly generated and are pasted on the each book available here. Visitors have Library cards with bar codes on them which are generated digitally for students and staff and are in proper using and also in good conditions.

Vidyalaya library provide facilities like Online Public Access Catalogue, Online Reservation of books, book Suggestion, Online Quiz etc. During Covid 19 Pandemic students requested for have access to the online library services from their home, this motivated us to host the library online by the source of blogging. Users can also use eGranthalaya 4 app (which can be downloaded from Google Play Store) to see their records of issued, returned and reserved books and can also search the catalogue of books of the Library. Library Blog was started on 1st May 2020 and providing all types of online services to students and other viewers. On the blog there is fully up-to-date information of library’s Programs, activities and events and much more informations are provided about Library and also of whole school.

LIBRARY RULES

1-Opening Hours: The library is open every school day from 08 a.m. to 01:30 p.m. and  03 p.m to 05 p.m.
2-Library Periods: According to the school time table the students of Class VI-XII can visit the library for the issue and return of the books during their library periods. They can refer books and participate in library activities during this time.
3-Borrowing information: Students of class 6 to 8 takes 06 books and class 9 to 12 takes 10 books for a period of 15 days. Faculty and staff: Maximum 20 books for a period of 30 days.

4. Books will be issued to the students, during the library periods. No book will be issued or returned during the teaching hours.
5. Marking, underlining or writing on library books, periodicals, and newspapers is strictly forbidden.
6. Reference books and current periodicals will not be issued to any member. These can be consulted only in the library.
7. If the books are not returned within the specified time it will be viewed seriously and fine will be charged as per rules.

8. The librarian may call for a book at any time, even if the normal period of loan has not expired.
9.
In case book is misused, wrongly handled or lost the person concerned will have to replace the book or pay the current market price of the book.
10.
After reading, make sure that the books, periodicals and newspapers are kept back at their respective Places.

11. The members should take good care of library furnishing and equipment. Make sure the library looks as good when you leave as it did when you came in.
12.
Drink and Food are not allowed.

13. A ‘No Dues Certificate’ by each students is to be obtained from the librarian while his/her transfer/withdrawal from the school.

. Strict order and silence shall be maintained in the library and speak softly if needed.
